Student answer (Band 5.0)
Curfew is a step that is choosed to stop anything that is going to be out of limits. There are curfews in some areas of US. I strongly agree with that curfews are the best steps for the teenagers to keep them in limits.
Curfew is the best thing it should be planned or used in many countries for the betterments.By this the teenagers will stay in the limits, 10am is an enough time for them to enjoy or go outside. After that time if there is any teenager outside, It might be not a good thing. There should be a control on the teenagers, if the exceeds the limit they would really ruin there lives. After 10pm if they want to go outside they should be with their elder ones because they are there safeguards. At Late night many boys of that age goes to clubs and somewhere other places that are sometimes Unethical. My friends son age was about 16 years old.
My friend was friendly with him on a peak level. I condem everyone should me friendly with their childs but giving them fully freedom can ruin them. That my friends son go outside and enjoy also at 2am and further late night. At least he started smoking with wayward boys. First he started cigrattes but after sometime he used to drink alcohol at a very young age. As by result he just ruined not his life but also the life of his family. That was all because or roming late nights having enjoy in clubs in bad companies.
The main thing we should keep our childs in limits. If we gave them a freedom they would do anything they want and at the end they would really finish there lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the introduction of curfews for teenagers. The ideas are supported with personal reasoning and an extended anecdote about a friend's son. However, the development tends to be repetitive and over-generalized, focusing heavily on a single narrative example rather than exploring multiple facets of the issue. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of argumentation aligns with Band 5.0 descriptors, as the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with a clear stance stated in the introduction, but the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and run-on sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraph breaks occur abruptly in the middle of arguments, such as separating the introduction of the anecdote from its narrative flow. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, as seen with phrases like 'That my friends son go outside'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. This reflects Band 5.0 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and frequently repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms such as 'best thing', 'outside', and 'limits'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'choosed', 'betterments', 'elder ones', and 'roming late nights'. Spelling errors like 'cigrattes' and grammatical confusion with word forms ('condem' instead of 'condemn', 'childs' instead of 'children') occur throughout the text. These errors cause occasional strain for the reader, matching the Band 5.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent and systematic errors in tense agreement, article usage, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'if the exceeds the limit', 'many boys of that age goes', 'My friend was friendly with him on a peak level'). Punctuation is also problematic, leading to run-on sentences and comma splices. These frequent errors impede smooth reading and clearly fall under Band 4.0 or 5.0, settling at 4.5 due to the severe grammatical breakdown.
