Student answer (Band 5.5)
The trend of being outside overnight is not unkown in the present scenario. However, in United states, youngsters are not allowed to be outdoor after certain time without having an adult with them. This tendancy has a number of causes including crime rate and lack of maturity in grown ups. In my opinion, it is a wise idea.
To begin with reasons behind this curfew, the first rate is crime. This is an undeniable fact that innocents are more prone to crime because they are not mature enough to understand difference between wrong and right which make them become victom of crime. For example last moth, in India a 14 years girl got rapped at night in the bus which ignites a spark of concern about childern's safety. Additionally, at this age, they are more likely to get invloved in bad company due to peer pressure as they might start drinking or smoking and night is perfect time since no body is watching them. Looking at these issues make people understand the importance of this restriction.
Shifting towards its effects on society, coming home early can be a good approach towards study as teenagers can get more time to focus on academic and broaden their horizon of knowledge instead of wasting time outdoor not only this but also it will help them strenghten their family relationships by spending night with family at homes.
According to my perspective, although going outside at night can be more fun but it can not overwigh the security youth which can be gotten by staying at home.
After pondering a great deal of thoughts i have come to conclusion that due to increasing level of crime and fragile bond of childern with parent, they had better stay at home late night.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt directly, presenting a clear personal opinion in favour of curfews. The writer identifies causes such as crime and lack of maturity, and discusses effects like academic focus and family relationships. Ideas are generally relevant, though some arguments suffer from over-generalisation and limited development. For instance, the reference to an incident in India is somewhat tangential to US-specific curfews, but it still supports the broader argument regarding safety. The conclusion clearly restates the position. Overall, the task is adequately addressed, placing the performance comfortably within Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing separating the introduction, causes, effects, counter-argument, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'Shifting towards its effects', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional lapses in pronoun agreement occur (e.g., 'childern with parent, they had better'). Progression is maintained throughout the text, allowing the reader to follow the writer's line of thought without significant confusion, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'tendancy', 'broaden their horizon', and 'pondering a great deal of thoughts'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('unkown', 'United states' lower case, 'tendancy', 'victom', 'moth', 'childern', 'involved', 'strenghten', 'overwigh') and odd word choices ('first rate is crime', 'security youth'). These errors occasionally cause minor strain for the reader, but communication remains clear throughout. This balance of adequate range and noticeable inaccuracies aligns with Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with frequent errors including missing articles ('a 14 years girl', 'in the bus'), subject-verb agreement issues, and punctuation errors. For example, 'not only this but also it will help them strenghten' lacks proper coordination and punctuation. While complex sentences are attempted, they are frequently flawed. Because the errors are noticeable but rarely completely impede overall communication, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
