Student answer (Band 4.5)

In every part of the world the curfews are imposed because of some emergyncey situation. Cerfew are announced t keep the people of taht area safe and sound from the danger and the individuals of taht area must follow that restriction.

As in some areas of the US, teenagers are not allowed to be out of doors and specially at the night times unless tehy are accompained by an adult. The reason for this could be a fatal disease of robers attacks on the teenagers or some other threat imposed to their safety or threat.

In my opinion, the adults must follow this curfew as this is not the long lasting, they will soon be free to move farelessly in nights even they don't need any elder accompanied with them.

I also have experinced suach curfews in my life. In 2019 and 2020 when the whole world was under the attack of the crona then in different part of the world there were lockouts. The industries, factories, offices, schools and all other areas where there could be the crowd of humans were banned and were closed. Individuals followed that bedtime and then after the struggle of two years, the fatal crona was started to deminish. There were a lot of deaths fisrtly a number of people did not followed the restriction and many of them then sentenced to death due to that disease, but hte people who followed it survived.

so, the curfews are for the safety of humans, and when any such situations are announced by the government we shoould follow them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt regarding curfews for teenagers by providing a personal opinion and bringing in a relevant real-life example of lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the connection between general pandemic lockdowns and teenage curfews is somewhat blurred, and the exploration of the specific task prompt (teenage curfews in the US) remains somewhat underdeveloped. The writer presents a clear stance that curfews are necessary for safety, but the ideas lack full extension and suffer from generalisation. Therefore, this performance aligns closely with Band 5, where the task is addressed, but the position is not always clearly sustained with fully developed supporting arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organised into multiple paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body arguments, a personal experience example, and a concluding remark. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, repetitive phrasing, and disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are minimal or misused, such as the abrupt transition 'so, the curfews are for the safety of humans'. Paragraphing is also erratic, with the personal anecdote and general statements blended together. While there is a visible attempt to structure the essay, the overall cohesion is faulty and mechanical, placing this response firmly at Band 4.5, which rounds to Band 5 based on standard descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, heavily hindered by persistent spelling errors such as 'emergyncey', 'Cerfew', 'taht', 'tehy', 'accompained', 'farelessly', 'experinced', 'suach', 'crona', 'deminish', 'fisrtly', and 'shoould'. The student attempts less common vocabulary like 'deminish' (diminish), but these attempts are marred by inaccurate spelling and word choice. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic ideas, though the density of lexical errors frequently causes strain for the reader, matching the Band 4 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, and preposition use, such as 'the curfews are imposed', 'at the night times', 'the adults must follow this curfew as this is not the long lasting', and 'a number of people did not followed'. Punctuation is also problematic, including lowercase capitalization at the beginning of sentences and awkward comma splices. Because errors are frequent, distorting meaning in places and causing difficulty for the reader, this warrants a Band 4.
