Student answer (Band 5.5)
Parents in some states in the United States Of America oblige their adolescents to be at home at a certain time at night, unless they were with a mature person. I firmly agree with this notion for their safety and maintaining healthy habits.
One of the main reasons why youngsters should be at home in a certain time is keep them safe from mugged or robbed, many teenagers reported that they were stolen and threatened by theifs and muggers while they were alone. Moreover, Female teenagers may face sexual harrasments from people that get drunk in the late night. Therefore, staying at streets or public places without an adult in a late hour at night would expose them to danger and maybe be a threaten to their lives.
Additionally, Staying up till a late hour would totally effect their health,Teenagers need to sleep early in order for growth horomones to effectively work, Going out and stay up late would totally effect their sleeping routine and waking up the next morning, Moreover, their mood as if a teenager deprived from the adequate amount of sleep will be in an awful mood and may act in a bad behaviour and that might lead to refuse to do sports or daily exercise because the lack of energy that results in less sleeping hours. Thus, parents of younersters should maintain a healthy lifestyle include effctive sleeping habits that would have a positive effect in their health.
in conclusion, I believe that adults who are in responsible for teenagers should keep them safe and healthy and put some restricttions on their going home time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on the curfew issue, supporting it with relevant ideas regarding safety and health. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which places the response at this level. While the point about physical safety and avoiding muggers is reasonably expanded, the discussion on health is somewhat repetitive and relies on general assertions rather than deep extension. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to ensure that every main idea is fully elaborated with richer explanations and more specific supporting details rather than returning to similar points about sleep and mood.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance introduced in the beginning and restated in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct main ideas, such as safety in the second paragraph and health in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is not always clear. For instance, the transition "Additionally, Staying up till a late hour" and the heavy reliance on comma splices in longer sentences disrupt the smooth logical flow. To improve, the writer should employ a wider variety of accurate cohesive devices and ensure that referencing pronouns clearly link back to their intended subjects without ambiguity.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and phrasing such as "adolescents," "mature person," and "growth hormones." Nevertheless, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally catch the reader's attention, such as "harrasments," "theifs," "effctive," and the confusion between "stay" and "staying." Furthermore, phrases like "keep them safe from mugged" indicate limitations in collocation and grammatical control over lexical patterns. To progress, the student must refine spelling accuracy and choose word forms more precisely to suit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause some difficulty for the reader, such as comma splices ("Going out and stay up late would totally effect..."), subject-verb agreement issues ("growth horomones to effectively work"), and awkward verb tenses ("unless they were with a mature person"). Punctuation control is also weak, with lowercase letters starting sentences in places like "in conclusion." To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences and ensure stricter control over basic grammatical boundaries.
