Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, where we see freedom for the younger generation and a sense of independency has a lot of benefits at same time it has some drawbacks as well. In some areas of U.S, government has imposed ban for teenagers that they cannot come out alone after a certain time. If they want to come out then they should come with their parents. I believe that this is a good initiative from government towards protecting younger generation from crime.
I personally support this step towards reducing crime ratio. For instance, I have noticed that after 10 pm in the night, the youngsters prefer to do a wine party with their friends. Moreover, they also commit some other kind of mistakes like overspeeding on the runways and breaking traffic signals. In addition, it has also been noticed that in the recent years a lot of students are involved in indulgent activities particularly at midnight. So the government's initiative to control such kind of activities is very benenficial.
The parents of teenagers can play a vital role in this regard. They should not allow their children to go alone at night, if they want them to be safe and secure from crime activities. The role of parents is of utmost importance for creating a peaceful society. If parents accompanied their children at night then definitely they would not commit any crime like drinking and other sexual activities. The government of USA has noticed a serious surge in the crime ratio and child abuse in the recenr years. So to prevent such kind of activities U.S government has imposed a curfew in some areas. This is actually a great step for the betterment of young generation. Hence parents not only should appreciate this initiative but also comply with government policy in order to protect the future of new generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support curfews as a way to protect teenagers and reduce crime, and you maintain this view throughout. You address the role of both government and parents, and examples such as late-night parties and dangerous driving are relevant to the topic. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, that teenagers would not commit crimes or engage in sexual activity if accompanied by parents. The discussion also focuses mainly on preventing teenagers’ behaviour, with less consideration of whether a curfew is fair or effective, or of possible drawbacks. Develop the reasoning behind your examples and explain how they support your position more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your opinion, the body paragraphs give reasons, and the final sentence reinforces your position. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “Hence” help signal relationships between ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several points are added in sequence without showing how they connect. The second paragraph moves from parties to traffic offences and then to students’ activities without developing a clear progression. Some references, such as “such kind of activities,” are also broad, so the reader must infer exactly which behaviours you mean. Group related examples together and use clearer references and transitions to make the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “curfew,” “crime,” “traffic signals,” and “peaceful society.” There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “play a vital role” and “of utmost importance.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “sense of independency,” “crime ratio,” “wine party,” and “indulgent activities.” Spelling errors such as “benenficial” and “recenr” also reduce accuracy. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your position, but they make parts of the argument less clear and precise. Focus on common, accurate collocations before trying to use more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “if,” “where,” and “that,” as well as connectors such as “Moreover” and “Hence.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. For example, “government has imposed ban” is missing articles, while “at same time” also needs an article. In “If parents accompanied their children … then definitely they would not commit,” the conditional form is not well controlled. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly in the opening sentence, which combines several ideas awkwardly. Review articles, conditional structures, and sentence construction to make your complex sentences more accurate.
