Student answer (Band 5.5)
In some areas of the United States, a curfew is imposed on teenagers and they are not allowed to go outside after a certain time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult. In my opinion, I beleive that this is a reasonalbe measure because it can procted young people from danger and reduce crime.
One major advantage of a teenage curfew is that it can improve their safety. Most of the crime occurs at late night, and young people who stay outside late at night may be more likely to encounter dangerous situations, such as fights, theft or other criminal activites. But, imposing curfew is benefical to reduce the involvement of teenagers. For example, teenagers who regulary spend their evening in parks or on street, and they have more chance to involve with groups that engage in antisocial behaviour.
Another benefit is that curfews can encourge youngsters to develop healthier routines because they will not stay outside late at night. Therefore, they get enough sleep and concentrate on their study, and they have enough time to study important topics, which helps to improve academic performance. Furthermore, when teenagers are not present on the streets late at night, there may be crime rate less since teenagers easily loose their temper and become part of antiscoial activities.
In conclusion, implementing curfew has several benefits, and it provides safety and reduces the crime rate. It is fruitful to foster healthier habits in youngsters such as getting enough sleep, and if they sleep properly, they can concntrate their study, which helps them perform better in their class.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you support curfews because they may protect teenagers and reduce crime, and the conclusion restates these benefits. You address the opinion task with relevant reasons, including exposure to dangerous situations and the possible effects of sleep on study. However, the two main points are not developed equally or fully. The example about teenagers in parks and on streets is general, and the claim that teenagers “easily lose their temper” is asserted rather than explained or supported. To strengthen the response, explain how a curfew would reduce these risks and add a specific, plausible example or acknowledge a limitation, such as the need for fair enforcement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits, and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and signposts such as “One major advantage,” “Another benefit,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because several sentences rely on “Furthermore,” “Therefore,” or repeated references to benefits without showing the precise relationship between claims. In the first body paragraph, the example beginning “For example” is grammatically awkward and its connection to reduced crime could be made clearer. Use pronouns and linking phrases to connect each explanation directly to its main point, and avoid repeating the same conclusion about safety and crime.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your position, including “curfew,” “dangerous situations,” “antisocial behaviour,” “academic performance,” and “crime rate.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “imposing curfew” and “foster healthier habits.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “beleive,” “reasonalbe,” “procted,” “activites,” and “concntrate.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “involvement of teenagers” is vague, and “crime rate less” does not express the intended meaning clearly. These errors do not prevent understanding overall, but they reduce precision. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “be involved in crime” and “the crime rate may fall.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because,” a result clause with “which helps,” and a conditional sentence beginning “if they sleep properly.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “teenagers who regulary spend their evening in parks or on street, and they have more chance” combines a relative clause with an unnecessary second subject and has unclear sentence structure. “There may be crime rate less” also has an incomplete comparative construction, while “implementing curfew” needs an article. Aim to make each sentence’s subject and main verb clear, and check articles, plurals, and clause connections. More consistently controlled complex sentences would improve accuracy.
