Student answer (Band 6.0)
US imposed curfew in some of its regions for teenagers not allowing them to go outside their homes after a specific time in dark or should be accompanied by a senior member of the family. I fully agree with the government's statement.
To start with, teenagers spend most of their time out of their homes. As at dawn, they go to their schools, meet their friends, play sports and study. So, at dusk, they should stay at home helping their parents and grand parents or completing their home-work. If children are going out at dark time without any adult, there might me chances of involving in bad companies like taking drugs, fraud and theft, other serious crimes. Recently, there was a news where 5 to 6 students aged 15 years went to play ground at around 7pm, where they take synthetic drugs and alcohol, then robbed vehicles, money and jewellery and after that they all raped a 12 year girl. These things our very shameful.
Moreover, teens are more likely to adopt things from the environment, mainly the bad ones over the good ones. Mainly youth watch movies and try to follow the heroes. Like, some teenagers tried to rob banks watching the robbery movies again and again. However, teens drive very fast to look smart and follow up with an accident.
To conclude, curfew for teenagers is the best step and it should be followed by every government to lower the crime rates because the young age having sharp minds and ample energy, if controlled and used for good deeds results better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: “I fully agree,” and the conclusion reinforces your view that curfews can reduce crime. You give relevant reasons, including exposure to crime at night and teenagers copying behaviour they see in films, and the example of students committing serious offences helps illustrate your concern. This covers the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the claim that teenagers should be home helping parents, for instance, does not directly establish why a curfew is necessary. The example is also presented as a news report without explaining its reliability or linking it carefully to curfews. Develop the strongest reasons with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and acknowledge a possible concern, such as limits on teenagers’ independence, to make the argument more fully balanced and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning “To start with” and “Moreover,” and a concluding paragraph. The ideas generally progress from nighttime risks to the influence of media, so the reader can follow your overall argument. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. The sequence “As at dawn… So, at dusk” is difficult to follow, and the long crime example contains several events without clear transitions between them. “However” introduces fast driving, but the relationship to the preceding point about copying film heroes is not fully explained. Use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, or example more precisely, and organise each paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and evidence. Clearer referencing would also help readers see how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “curfew,” “synthetic drugs,” “robbed,” and “crime rates,” which makes your subject clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “ample energy” and “bad companies.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “at dark time,” “there was a news,” and “follow up with an accident.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “senior member of the family” does not clearly mean an accompanying adult, and “these things our very shameful” obscures the intended meaning. Aim for natural collocations and precise wording, and check spelling and word forms. This would make your ideas easier to understand and show more consistent control of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If children are going out at dark time without any adult…” and a concluding sentence with a reason-and-result relationship. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “US imposed curfew” lacks an article, “there might me chances of involving” has faulty verb construction, and “where they take synthetic drugs” shifts tense within a past event. The final sentence, beginning “because the young age having…,” is also not a complete, well-controlled clause. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. Building complex sentences from shorter, correct clauses will help you express your reasoning more clearly.
