Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many places of the US, a 'curfew' is imposed, in which teenagers are restricted to go out after particular time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult or parents. Although this is a best idea in order to maintain safety of childrens and save lives from certain threats, I belive they should be allowed to go out as their freedom.
One main advantage of having curfew is that parents should not have worry for their childrens' safety at night. As restriction help them not to escape house or return at home before night, so parents will feel safe as their chilren returned to home. In addition, at night teenagers might lost their paths becuase they do not have access to phones. Moreover, there are certain threats at night such as robbery involve with guns, which may impact threat on children lives. For instance, they get psycological mental health problems, if they witness such a crime. Therefore, implying cerfew help them to learn importance about safety.
However, Children can feel socilize isolation, if cerfew is to long. In some cases like a celebration party of their friends or night stay at friends' house for finishing homework in group projects, it restried them to have fun in their life. In addition, they can lose social interaction with their friend, which will impact on weeker relationships. For example, Children might behave frustrated or angry because some parents or cerfew not allowed to go out, even if they accompanied by an adult. Although safety is matter of consideration, parents should be flexible and allow their children in such occasions.
In conclusion, although can curfew restrict children for their safety at night hours from certain threats, I believe parents should be flexible and accompanied in some cases, which help children to strenthen social relationships.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and present a recognisable position: you acknowledge curfews’ safety benefits but argue that parents should allow flexibility for social occasions. The body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including risks at night and the effect of restrictions on friendships, with examples such as group homework and parties. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says teenagers “should be allowed to go out as their freedom,” while the conclusion supports going out only “in some cases.” Some points also need clearer development. For example, the claim that teenagers may get lost because they lack phone access is asserted rather than explained, and the link between witnessing crime and mental-health problems could be made more precise. Clarify your position and develop each example to show how it supports it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the benefits and drawbacks of curfews, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. At times, though, cohesion feels mechanical or the links between ideas are unclear. In the first body paragraph, “As restriction help them not to escape house or return at home before night” is difficult to follow, and the next sentence repeats the idea of parents feeling safe without a clear progression. References such as “they” and “them” can also be ambiguous. Use fewer formulaic connectors and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “curfew,” “safety,” “threats,” “social interaction,” and “relationships,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “psychological” and “witness.” However, the range is limited by repeated basic wording and noticeable errors in spelling, word form, and collocation. Examples include “socialize isolation,” “impact threat on children lives,” and “strenthen social relationships”; these choices can make the intended meaning less clear. Several words are also misspelled, including “belive,” “cerfew,” and “chilren.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing safety and social development, and check spelling and natural word combinations. This would make your ideas clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although safety is matter of consideration” and a conditional idea about curfews being too long. Some sentences communicate the main point, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms recur. For example, “One main advantage … is that parents should not have worry” needs a grammatical construction such as “is that parents do not have to worry,” while “As restriction help them” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an incomplete connection to the following clause. In “although can curfew restrict children,” the word order is also faulty. Practise building accurate clauses before adding connectors, and check articles and verb forms when revising.
