Student answer (Band 4.5)
A 'curfew' is a condition where authorities like police take charge and prevent any moment of people around freely which normally arise to prevent exherbating of the severe or sensitive situation in order to preserve peace in country. Often cases shows that the authorities take critical steps in order to prevent the croud from going bizzare. Steps include tear gas and violance which may result in injuries. On the other hand, not so popular reason for imposing curfew is to prevent expansion of any crime or infection/virus. For example, at the time of Covid-19 similar steps were taken out by multiple countries in order to prevent and reduce positive cases.
But, theres a debut going that Some areas of US have curfews with protocals restricting teenagers from going out after a particular time without an adult by there side. One side states that no-one should be forced to be in there own house often said as imprisoned in there own house. Teenagers are young blood and If they are being forced by law, it will only burst out in a form of rage and the arguing side including my support opposes by stating that the situation needs to be analysed first and if the protocal's being imposed in response to the safety of the teenagers or preserving peace in country then as a responsible citizen of US they must obey the rules.
Where as propogation of false narrative should be taken under considration and required steps to stop them must be taken in action as soon as possible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response engages with curfews and gives a conditional position: teenagers should obey restrictions when they are imposed for safety or public order. This is relevant, but the opinion is not stated clearly at the outset and the discussion only partly answers whether such curfews are justified. Much of the opening explains curfews generally, including tear gas and Covid-19, rather than examining the specific case of teenagers being accompanied by an adult at night. The opposing view—that young people may feel imprisoned and become angry—is introduced but not developed with a concrete example or explanation. Make your position explicit, then support it with focused reasons about teenagers’ safety, freedom, and the circumstances in which restrictions are appropriate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into paragraphs and to signal contrast with phrases such as “On the other hand,” “But,” and “Where as.” However, the progression is difficult to follow: the first paragraph moves from police action to crowd control and infection, before the essay turns to teenage curfews. The second paragraph combines opposing views and your own position in a long, crowded sentence, so the relationship between the ideas is not always clear. The final sentence about false narratives is not linked clearly to the preceding argument. Use one paragraph for your position and reasons, another for a counterargument and response, and make each linking phrase express a clear relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “authorities,” “preserve peace,” “sensitive situation,” and “responsible citizen.” Some choices are effective, but frequent spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “exherbating,” “going bizzare,” and “propogation of false narrative.” There are also imprecise expressions, including “prevent any moment of people around freely,” which obscures the intended meaning. This fits a limited but minimally adequate range: the reader can identify the general topic, but errors sometimes interfere with the message. Prioritise accurate, natural phrases such as “restrict people’s movement” and check spelling before using less familiar vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts complex sentences, particularly when presenting the opposing view and your own position, but these structures are often difficult to control. For example, “the arguing side including my support opposes by stating…” has an unclear grammatical relationship between its parts, and the opening sentence contains several clauses without a clear structure. There are also recurring errors in agreement and sentence formation, as in “Often cases shows,” as well as problems with articles, possessives, and punctuation. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Build accuracy with shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled clauses; check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries during revision.
