Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are few areas of the United States in which 'curfew' is imposed, in the meantime youngsters are not allowed to go outside after a certain period of time in the night, except accompanied by an adult. There are several reasons responsible for this that i will discuss in the upcoming body paragraphs.
The strongest reason is their budding mind. Teenagers are not enough mature to understand the things leading to the curfew. As a result, they require someone who can understand the policies which are regulated during the curfew hours. Moreover, government only imposes this stringent policy in case of emergency to protect their people. While in the dark it is more easy for perpetrators of crime to commit crime. For example, during the 1990's child kidnapping grown to 50% in night which leads to sense of insecurity among parents, they stopped allowing their children to go out unless they are with them.
In addition, health and safety is the another contributing factor to this issue. Youngsters health is more prone to diseases than the adult as that of adult. for instance, during Corona virus pandemic children mortality rate was 50% more than adult because of their organs, which get mature with the age. Authorites enact curfew during corona pandemic to save the lives of their people
To conclude, there are some reasons behind the curfew imposed by the government during the night, but i think the main factor is health and safety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant opinion in the conclusion, identifying health and safety as the main reason, and you offer examples involving crime and the pandemic. However, the position is not clear throughout: the opening says you will discuss reasons for curfews rather than directly stating whether you support them, and the body mostly explains why authorities impose them instead of evaluating whether the restriction is justified. Several claims, such as the figures about kidnapping and child mortality, are asserted without explanation or support. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your view clearly in the introduction, explain the benefits and possible drawbacks of curfews, and develop each example with a clear link to your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The paragraphs each focus on a related reason, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “To conclude” help signal movement between points. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “As a result” does not clearly follow from the claim about teenagers’ maturity, and the shift from crime to parental insecurity needs a more explicit explanation. The conclusion repeats the general topic but does not fully draw together the two body arguments. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and make each paragraph build towards the stated opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “curfew,” “stringent policy,” “perpetrators of crime,” and “sense of insecurity,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also an attempt to vary wording with “teenagers,” “youngsters,” and “children.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “budding mind,” “not enough mature,” and “child kidnapping grown to 50%.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “Authorites” and “Corona virus,” also reduce precision. Aim for natural, accurate phrases and avoid unsupported statistics when you cannot explain them. More precise vocabulary for expressing an opinion and weighing advantages against disadvantages would make the argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “someone who can understand the policies” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “unless they are with them.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “Teenagers are not enough mature,” “Youngsters health is more prone to diseases than the adult,” and “child kidnapping grown to 50%,” where forms and sentence construction are inaccurate. There are also problems with articles, agreement, capitalization, and punctuation, such as “the another contributing factor” and the missing space after “adult.” Practise building accurate sentences first, especially comparisons and past-tense statements, then add complexity.
