Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response identifies the topic and gives a position: you say curfews are imposed “because of their safety.” You also begin a relevant example by referring to the COVID period. However, the answer stops before explaining this example or developing further reasons, and it does not fully discuss your opinion about whether curfews are appropriate. The response is 74 words, so it is 176 words below the required minimum; this leaves the task substantially incomplete and prevents your ideas from being supported. To improve, state your view clearly, develop two relevant reasons with explanations or examples, and write a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the answer: an opening introduces the issue, followed by “To begin with reasons” and “Firstly,” to signal the start of the main discussion. These markers show an awareness of sequencing. However, the response ends mid-sentence after “but also for seniors as,” so there is no completed paragraph, logical progression, or conclusion. The opening also promises an explanation in “the aforementioned paragraphs,” but the promised development does not follow. Build complete paragraphs around one main point each, use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas, and finish with a concluding statement that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “curfew,” “accompanied by an adult,” “authorities,” and “safety,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concern. The range is nevertheless limited because the response is very short, and several expressions are awkward or imprecise: “specific time during night” and “not safer” do not express the intended meaning naturally. “In the aforementioned paragraphs” is also unnecessarily formal for this simple reference. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and a wider range of terms for discussing public safety, restrictions, and teenagers’ independence. More developed ideas would also give you opportunities to demonstrate vocabulary flexibly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes both simple statements and an attempt at a longer sentence, such as “Teenagers are not allowed to step outside … unless they are accompanied by an adult.” This shows some ability to use a subordinate clause. However, control is inconsistent: “In United states of America curfew is imposed” is missing necessary articles, and the opening sentence has an awkward grammatical structure. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “as,” which leaves the relationship between the ideas unfinished. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, including the lowercase “i.” Practise accurate article use and complete sentence construction, then check that every sentence has a finished main clause and appropriate punctuation.
