Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowdays, It is common for teenagers to be out for a late night with their friends or alone. The USA imposed a curfew on those who are under age in order to make a safe enivironment during the night time in city. I completely agree with this action and I also believe that other countries should also take some strict steps to decrease crime and other activity which is affecting local people. I will explain how this steps could improve individuals life style.
First and formost, curfew will give some relief to working parents if both parents are working late night. When they are working till midnight than they might not able to take care of their child properly. But this law will make teenagers to stay at home which will be some stress relief for gurdians. Secondly, most of the crimes happens during the night time. Allowing childern to go out without parents permission will be dangerous as they might join their friends who does bad activities. As per latest report, teenagers who stay late night up outside with their friends are most likely to join drug suppliers.
Lastly, childern will be able to focus more on study and also will get good amount of sleep. As a result, childern will improve self esteem, foucus and also healthy relation with their parents.
However, curfew should not be follow to strictly as some teenagers works late night. Also, they should be allowed to go out with their friends once in a while if their parents approve.
To sum up, although children will feel restricted for a some period but I believe that curfew will bring more positive impact towards society. They should be only allowed if they are with any adult or parents.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you support curfews and argue they could reduce exposure to crime and help teenagers’ wellbeing. You address the main question and include relevant reasons, such as parental reassurance and the risks of being out late. The concession that some teenagers work late and should sometimes go out with parental approval also shows awareness of exceptions. However, several points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that curfews improve self-esteem and relationships with parents needs a clearer link to the policy, and the reference to a report about drug suppliers is not developed or illustrated. More specific explanation or a relevant example would make the argument more convincing and complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs present reasons and a qualification, and the conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Secondly,” “Lastly,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the progression. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. Some connections are less smooth, however. The paragraph about study, sleep, and self-esteem introduces several outcomes without showing how they connect, while “However” signals a contrast that could be integrated more clearly with the preceding argument. References such as “this action” and “this steps” are not always precise. To strengthen cohesion, use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “curfew,” “working parents,” “crime,” “drug suppliers,” and “restricted.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “self-esteem” and “local people.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “enivironment,” “gurdians,” and “foucus” are examples, while “a safe environment during the night time in city” is awkwardly expressed. Repetition of “children,” “night time,” and “allowed” also limits flexibility. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing public safety and young people, and proofread spelling and word forms so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional idea (“if both parents are working late night”) and a concession (“although children will feel restricted…”). The overall meaning is generally understandable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors recur in sentence construction, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “most of the crimes happens” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “curfew should not be follow to strictly” has an incorrect passive form and adverb construction. “When they are working till midnight than they might not able” also needs a more accurate clause structure. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and review articles, plurals, and agreement. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
