Student answer (Band 5.5)
The influence of curfew is making a restriction for teenagers to stay indoors after a particular time at night in United States of America. This can be exempted if they are accompanied by an adult. In my opinion, this is a positive move to promote awareness and security.
The primary reason for this could be the safety. There have been increase in number of complaints for children being missing after late hours. However, the government is trying to provide the best service by having petrol vans in alternative areas but no impact is being observed on the count of kidnapping cases. People should understand the reason behind the curfew in order to keep it running. For instance, my neighbour's kid went on cycling yestarday and saw aa black car was following him. He called his father immidiately and drove towards his house on speed. On the other side, his father called police and mentioned everything after which he got home safe.
Secondly, durg addiction could be the second reason. Many people say that the trade of such illegal substance takes place after hours. Notwithstanding, parents try to keep their kids in house to protect from such activities. In many cases, it can be seens that children gets the addiction ten time more faster than an adult, perhaps, which makes it hard for them to leave.
In conclusion, I would like to say that in order to keep the juniors of the residence safe and secure, it is really essential for them to stay in the home after after evening. That being said, curfew is effective if imposed properly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider curfews a positive measure for teenagers’ safety, and the conclusion restates this view. You address the topic with two relevant reasons—risk of abduction and exposure to drug activity—and the neighbour’s experience gives the first reason a concrete example. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The anecdote is detailed, while the point about drug addiction is asserted rather than explained, and the link between curfew and reducing these risks could be made more explicit. Develop both reasons with clearer explanation and, where possible, evidence or a relevant example. This would make the argument more fully supported and balanced across its main points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “The primary reason” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes your position and main points easy to locate. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding claim about missing children, and “Notwithstanding” does not establish a clear relationship between illegal trade and parents’ efforts. The anecdote also moves quickly from the child being followed to the police being called, without fully clarifying the sequence. Use linking expressions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and add clearer transitions within paragraphs. This would improve progression while preserving the effective basic paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “curfew,” “accompanied,” “illegal substance,” and “kidnapping cases,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range and control are limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “petrol vans in alternative areas” does not clearly convey what kind of public-safety service you mean, while “the influence of curfew is making a restriction” is an awkward way to introduce the policy. Spelling errors such as “yestarday,” “immidiately,” and “durg” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a conditional structure (“This can be exempted if they are accompanied by an adult”) and longer sentences explaining the anecdote. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms reduce accuracy. For example, “There have been increase” needs a plural noun form, and “children gets” has a subject–verb agreement error. The final sentence also repeats “after,” and the opening sentence is difficult to parse because its grammatical structure is incomplete or awkward. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then extend them with subordinate clauses. Proofreading for agreement, articles, and repeated words would improve control.
