Student answer (Band 4.5)

Youngsters are not allowed to get out for certain time in few locations in the USA because of imposing curfew by the goverment. I disagree with this statement that teenagers should go out side. I would explain my answer in the following paragraphs.

My first reason, why i belive that youngsters sholud not stay at home during curfew is, there are chances of home sikness. if teenagers closed themself at home, their mind starts diverting from extrovet to introvert. Because of that they might be more aggresive and stubborn. Therfore, they are getting involved in criminal activity like mudder and robbery.

Moreover, they are focusing to earn handsome amount of money because of curfew. As a consequent, parents are putting too much pressure for earing money. Hence, this situation turn into family problem. For example, in 2010, The us court declaihome during red 58.78% of family confilt case files were submitted during curfew was imposed in 2009.

For instant, my neighbour lives in the USA since 1997, they explaiend me that during election there were conflict between us polise and community. Therefore, the government imposed curfew to maintene the situation. So, their son was not able to go out for bread and butter. As a result, whole family had faced financial crisis for very long time and situation turned into dipression.

In short, teenagers are not staying at home during curfew is imposed by the USA in some area because of financial crisis and mental well being for themself and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear view that teenagers should be allowed out during curfew, and you try to support it with reasons about mental well-being, family finances, and an example involving your neighbour. However, the response does not consistently explain how these points answer the question about whether curfews are appropriate. The claim that staying home causes teenagers to become introverted and then commit crimes is asserted rather than convincingly explained, while the link between curfew and pressure to earn money is unclear. The court statistic is also difficult to interpret. To strengthen the response, state your position more precisely and develop two relevant reasons with clear explanations and credible examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two reason paragraphs, a personal example, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “As a result,” and “In short” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is difficult to follow because some connections between ideas are unclear or contradictory. For example, the paragraph beginning “My first reason” moves from staying at home to criminal activity without explaining the steps in that argument. The next paragraph shifts to earning money and family pressure, but the relationship to curfew is not established. Use topic sentences that state one main point, then explain it in sequence, and ensure each example directly supports that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary related to the topic, including “curfew,” “criminal activity,” “financial crisis,” and “mental well being.” These choices show some awareness of the language needed for the discussion. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “home sikness,” “extrovet,” “mudder,” and “family confilt.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “go out for bread and butter” and “earn handsome amount of money.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, such as “earn a living” and “experience financial hardship.” Prefer clear, precise wording over ambitious expressions whose meaning is uncertain.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and some attempts at longer structures, including cause-and-effect sentences with “because,” “hence,” and “as a result.” The main ideas can often be identified, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur regularly. For example, “I disagree with this statement that teenagers should go out side” does not clearly express your position, and “if teenagers closed themself at home” has problems with verb form and pronoun agreement. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and agreement, as in “this situation turn into family problem.” Work on forming complete, direct sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and singular/plural nouns. More accurate basic structures will make your reasoning easier to follow.
