Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general opinion in favour of curfews, especially through the claims that they protect young people and help make a community safer. The tourism and employment example also attempts to support your view. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not consider possible disadvantages or explain when a curfew might be unreasonable, and several claims—such as that curfews attract tourists—are asserted rather than developed. The final point about children becoming disciplined is relevant but difficult to follow. The response is 32 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop two or three relevant reasons with specific examples and a brief qualification of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: the opening states your view, the next paragraph discusses community safety and economic benefits, and “moreover” introduces a further point about children. These paragraph divisions and basic linking words help readers identify the main topics. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, particularly where the discussion moves from visitors renting hotels to jobs and manpower. Some connections are mechanical or imprecise, and the final sentence combines several ideas without showing how they relate. Referencing is also unclear in phrases such as “they” and “our children.” Use one main idea per paragraph, arrange supporting details in a clear sequence, and make pronoun references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “curfew,” “prohibited,” “abuse of power,” “community,” and “discipline.” This gives you some means of expressing your position and discussing safety and economic effects. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “love once,” “vast of forriegn visit us,” and “control thier my.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “Public rules are abuse of power” and “more income to our businesses.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases. More precise terms such as “public safety,” “local businesses,” and “foreign visitors” would make your arguments clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result sequence about visitors, businesses, and employment. However, the range is limited, and attempts to connect several clauses often produce faulty sentence structures. For example, “below 18 years old are prohibited to go out” lacks a clear subject construction, while “without accompanied an adult” has an incorrect verb form. Agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention in “Government rules is” and the long sentence beginning “if vast of foreign visit us.” These errors frequently make the intended relationships hard to follow. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences using controlled clauses and correct punctuation.
