Student answer (Band 6.0)
Teenagers are not allowed to be out late in the night because of the law that was imposed to the US, unless an adult is accompanied with them. This arrangement of law for younger people have several benefit to it, that can bring safety on the community.
One reason that this law its great is because no minors would be outside that can affect the community or businesses that makes it in trouble. For example, if children go outside without the supervision of an adult it may lead to go to a convenience store that minors can shoplift any product inside it, In which they can get in trouble or get into jail for their behavior. Another one is that nowadays young girls might get harrassed by people with bad intensions that makes their safety jeopardize.
Further more, many parents accompanies their children when they wanted to go outside just to eat or play at the night, which is much better so they know it is safe and they can take care of their children. Having them supervise the teenagers late at night is great and will make sure that their children are not doing any crimes that would harm themselves or the family.
In conclusion, I agree to the curfew that it is appropriate for many younger peole that is not allowed to go late at night in order to have a responsible behavior towards the rule. But these rules must be flexible enough so it can accommodate teenagers who needed to travel alone for important reasons.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support curfews because they may protect teenagers and the wider community, while your conclusion adds a sensible qualification that exceptions should be possible for important travel. The examples of shoplifting and harassment are relevant, and you also explain how adult supervision can reassure parents. This addresses the task, but the ideas are not developed evenly: the possible harm to businesses is asserted rather than explained, and the point about parents accompanying teenagers largely repeats the supervision argument. To strengthen the response, explain how a curfew balances safety with teenagers’ independence, and develop your exception with a specific example, such as an emergency or a late work shift. This would make the reasoning more fully supported and nuanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs give supporting reasons, and the conclusion restates your position and adds a qualification. Sequencing phrases such as “One reason,” “Further more,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical, and the second body paragraph repeats the idea of adult supervision without clearly extending the previous point. The long example beginning “For example” also contains several ideas that would be easier to follow if divided into shorter sentences. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas, not just to announce a new point, and make references such as “this law” or “these rules” precise. These changes would make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “curfew,” “supervision,” “shoplift,” and “harassed.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “important reasons” and “responsible behavior.” However, several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less natural: “the law that was imposed to the US,” “makes their safety jeopardize,” and “bad intensions.” Spelling errors such as “peole” and “harrassed” also reduce accuracy. The range is adequate for expressing your position, but some wording is repetitive or imprecise. Build control by learning common word partnerships—for example, “impose a law,” “put someone’s safety at risk,” and “bad intentions”—and proofreading spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional reasoning (“if children go outside… it may lead…”) and a concession in the conclusion (“But these rules must be flexible…”). The main message remains understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “This arrangement of law… have several benefit” has problems with agreement and number, while “if children go outside… it may lead to go” is not a well-formed conditional clause. The sentence about girls also has an unclear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and use shorter sentences when an idea becomes complicated; then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
