Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a relevant attempt to discuss curfews and gives a personal view near the end, including the example of earning through freelancing during lockdown. However, it does not clearly answer whether restricting teenagers from being outdoors at night is a good idea. Much of the discussion shifts to war, general lockdown arrangements, online services, and learning skills, which are not directly connected to the specific curfew in the question. The opening also describes a curfew as applying to areas affected by war, rather than explaining its effect on teenagers. To develop the response, state a clear position on the policy and support it with reasons focused on teenagers’ safety, freedom, or family responsibility.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening description, two contrasting points introduced by “at one hand” and “at other hand,” and a concluding opinion. These signals show an effort to guide the reader. However, the ideas are not arranged in a clear progression, and the discussion moves abruptly from curfews to war, school protection, lockdown facilities, COVID-19, and freelancing. Connections between these points are often unclear, so the reader has to infer how they support the argument about teenagers’ curfews. Paragraphing is also limited, with several different ideas crowded together. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each main reason, and the conclusion, and make each paragraph directly support the same central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “curfew,” “protection,” “lockdown,” “online platforms,” and “freelancing,” and the personal example gives the writing some specific language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning difficult to follow, such as “couple with teenagers are locked in house,” “make there own plateforms,” and “every desire of every single person.” Some expressions appear to come from a different context, particularly the repeated references to war and lockdown, rather than the issue of teenagers being out at night. Build a more precise set of terms for this topic, such as “public safety,” “parental supervision,” and “restrict teenagers’ movement,” and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas using clauses and conjunctions, for example, “because these students and chileds were future of US” and “when covied 19 begin so every where held lock down.” However, sentence structures are very limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Examples include “this curfew was start,” “police provied security,” and “every person need to learn.” Several sentences begin with conjunctions or are joined without clear punctuation, making relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then add controlled complex sentences with “because,” “although,” and “if.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
