Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many places of the United State, a 'curfew' is imposed, in which youngsters are not allowed to participate in out door activities after a specific time at night until they are allowed by an adult. I largely agree because curfew can protect youngsters from crime and other dangers. However, such restriction must not be strict.
One main reason why curfew is important is that it can prevent youngsters to get involved into useless activities such as smoking, drinking alcohol and other activities ,particularly in those areas where the security is inadequate. Furthermore, the teenagers are unexperienced to deal with dangerous activities so supervision of an adult is also important. For example incase the curfew is applied then the rate of traffic accident also brings down as well as the crime rate.
One other hand of the argument is that the curfew must take care of students independence, which involved students who are involved in part-time jobs, events or any other intentions are allowed to be on their spots without any problems. Moreover, for those who came from overseas and live alone without any gradian must allow some protocols that they would also feel safe in such environment. For instance, in America those students who have no adults at their home have right to take their own discission.
In conclusion, it helps youngsters to prevent dangerous crime and other useless activities. i believe that it can be beneficial for societies and their individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you largely support curfews because they may protect teenagers, while arguing that restrictions should not be too strict. You address both safety and young people’s independence, and the examples of part-time work and students living without adults are relevant. However, several points are asserted rather than explained: for example, the link between curfews and lower traffic-accident rates is not developed, and the exceptions for overseas students are difficult to follow. The conclusion repeats the safety benefit but does not restate how you would balance protection with independence. The response is 7 words below the required minimum, and fuller development of the main reasons would strengthen the answer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different considerations, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through your argument, and connectors such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “For instance” help link examples to points. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. “One other hand of the argument” does not clearly signal the contrast, and the sentence beginning “which involved students” makes the relationship between independence and the examples hard to follow. The final paragraph also introduces no synthesis of the two sides. Use clearer topic sentences and refer back explicitly to the point being developed; this would make the progression more consistent and the cohesion less dependent on linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “curfew,” “supervision,” “security,” “part-time jobs,” and “crime rate,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “inadequate security.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or awkward, including “participate in out door activities,” “prevent youngsters to get involved,” and “take care of students independence.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “unexperienced,” “gradian,” and “discission” also reduce precision. Build a reliable set of natural phrases for discussing restrictions, safety, and exceptions, and check spelling and collocations during revision. This will make your meaning clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “in case the curfew is applied” and a relative clause about students who work part-time. This shows some range, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur: “curfew can protect” needs an article, “the teenagers are unexperienced to deal” is not correctly formed, and “those who came from overseas … must allow” has an unclear subject and verb relationship. There are also problems with agreement and punctuation, as in “the rate of traffic accident also brings down,” and the final “i” should be capitalised. Practise accurate clause structure and subject–verb agreement, then proofread each sentence for articles and punctuation.
