Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's generation, Youngsters are more responsible factors for any country. In the United States, many areas are banned for under 18 people after a particular time at midnight unless they are with their parents. I personally believe that curfew is delievered because of some particular reason and it is necessary too. Now in this essay i will discussing my opinion towards it.

First of all, The main reason behind this rules is kidnapping. kidnapping under 18 years of children is the biggest concern for the US in recent years. Also, mafias are using them as drug delievery person because police are not questioning to children so it is more beneficial for this. In addition to this, teenagers girls are more beneficial in business of sex workers. For example, from recent news report 22% of women who works as sex workers are teenagers in las vegas.

However, US government follow strict rules for teenegers in this particular areas but they should be strict on the culprit of this rule breaker. Moreover, it is more responsible for parents who known about the place their they lives so they have to give a knowledge to their children about this types of crime and work and also they have to put their children into the art of fight like different sports of self protecting like boxing, karate, zudo and many more. For instance, the area around the US-Mexico border 85% of parents put their child into this type of sports for self protecting.

To conclude, In my opinion, the US government doing great work to reduce crime on teenage from putting curfew on areas after 12AM for youngsters are not allowed to come outsides without their parents. I believe that it is happened to reduce crime in this particular areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support curfews, describing them as necessary to reduce crime. You address the topic with relevant concerns, including kidnapping, exploitation by criminal groups, and parental responsibility, and you give examples to illustrate your points. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The claims about sex work and the statistics from Las Vegas and the US–Mexico border are presented without explanation or context, so their relevance and reliability are unclear. The paragraph beginning “However” also shifts from curfews to what parents and government should do, without fully explaining how these measures relate to your view of the policy. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation of how a curfew helps, and qualify broad claims with credible, specific support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “In addition to this,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument, and the overall position remains understandable. At times, however, the links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. “However” introduces a paragraph that largely adds recommendations rather than presenting a contrasting point, while “this rule breaker” has an unclear reference. The second body paragraph also combines government enforcement, parental guidance, and self-defence training without showing how these points connect. Use transitions that express the actual relationship between ideas, and organise each paragraph around one main point with clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “kidnapping,” “culprit,” “self protecting,” and “curfew,” and the reader can generally understand your main argument. However, the range and control of word choice are limited, with repeated or inaccurate expressions that sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Youngsters are more responsible factors” does not clearly express your intended meaning, and “drug delievery person” and “business of sex workers” are unnatural combinations. Spelling errors such as “delievered,” “teenegers,” and “zudo” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of topic-related phrases and check spelling; prefer natural collocations such as “protect teenagers from exploitation” and “enforce a curfew.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, such as the sentence beginning “Moreover, it is more responsible for parents…”. This shows an effort to vary sentence structure, and your main position is usually recoverable. However, many longer sentences are not controlled, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “I will discussing my opinion,” “parents who known,” and “the US government doing great work.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including unnecessary capitals after sentence openings. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions; check that each sentence has a complete verb and that subjects and verbs agree.
