Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is only 102 words long. Consequently, the task is incomplete. While you have touched upon the positive aspects of the hotel and mentioned the food, you have not fully explained why the food was unsatisfactory, nor have you provided suggestions for improvement. The letter ends abruptly mid-sentence, meaning the final bullet point is entirely unaddressed. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are covered and that the response meets the length requirement to allow for sufficient development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter lacks a clear structure and logical progression. The abrupt ending and the lack of paragraph breaks make it difficult to follow the flow of ideas. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'although' and 'if', the overall organization is fragmented. The text stops mid-sentence, which severely disrupts the coherence of the letter. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing to separate the different points required by the prompt and ensure that your sentences are complete and logically linked to one another.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. You use some descriptive language like 'eye catching' and 'pleasant', but there are errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'enviornmnet' and 'collegues'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and the unfinished nature of the text prevents you from demonstrating a wider or more sophisticated range of lexical items. Focus on using more varied and precise vocabulary related to business meetings and hospitality services.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors, including punctuation issues and run-on sentences. For example, 'so, last week me and my collegues' should be 'Last week, my colleagues and I'. The sentence structure is often repetitive and lacks complexity. There are also significant errors in basic sentence construction, such as the incomplete sentence at the end of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation, and then work on incorporating a variety of complex sentence structures to enhance your writing.
