IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You recently organised an all-day meeting for your company, which took place in a local hotel. In their feedback, participants at the meeting said that they liked the hotel, but they were unhappy about the food that was served for lunch.

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter

• say what the participants liked about the hotel
• explain why they were unhappy about the food
• suggest what the manager should do to improve the food in future

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing this to share the feedback we received from our participants of an all-day meeting with had at your hotel on 25th July 2026.

The participants really appreciated the support and assistance received from staff. They were polite, friendly yet very professional and ensured things were addressed and resolved at the earliest. Even the conference we had booked was spacious and seating was comfortable for a day long meeting.

However, I would like to share our concerns regarding the lunch that was served. firstly, it was cold by the lunch time and the refill of the dishes also was slow. Secondly, the paneer was uncooked and had rubbery form.

I would request you to have an immediate inspection of the raw material that is used in kitchen and the suppliers of the paneer. Also ensure that the food is placed in the designated area just before the defined lunch time and the dishes are on warmer's to keep the food fresh and warm for the guest, additionally make sure the backup is kept for the dishes that needs frequent refills so the guest don't have to wait too long.
