Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: the positive aspects of the hotel, the issues with the food, and suggestions for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the food was 'low quality' and caused 'stomach problems', providing a more specific example of what was wrong (e.g., cold food or poor hygiene) would have strengthened the response. The letter is clear and the purpose is well-defined, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Overall', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as using 'However' to introduce a consequence rather than a contrast. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack smooth transitions, which occasionally disrupts the flow of information. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would help move your score higher.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'mesmerizing', 'reputation', and 'appreciation'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'most attracting things' instead of 'most attractive features', 'continent car parking' (likely meaning 'convenient'), and 'give evolution' instead of 'gave feedback'. These errors occasionally make the text sound unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose fit the formal context of a complaint letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('all the meeting attendant give'), incorrect verb tenses ('some people get stomach problem'), and punctuation errors (comma splices). Some sentences are difficult to parse, such as 'you should have to pointed safety check team'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tenses will significantly improve your accuracy.
