Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You clearly stated what the participants liked (welcome drinks, interior, staff), explained the issues with the lunch (cold/soggy bread, missing soup), and provided suggestions for improvement. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. To reach a higher band, ensure that your suggestions are more specific and clearly linked to the problems mentioned. For example, instead of 'change the pattern of cooking system', you could suggest 'implementing a food warming station' or 'improving communication between the kitchen and serving staff' to ensure menu items are available as advertised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter follows a logical structure with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'Additionally' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor grammatical errors that affect the natural progression of sentences. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'another one' instead of 'another on') is accurate to maintain smooth transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'mouthwatering', 'unique', and 'consumable'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'participants were complained' (should be 'participants complained') and 'fill the gap communication' (should be 'bridge the communication gap'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal business phrases would help elevate the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'I booked the conference room... on the Friday' (unnecessary 'the'), 'a different types of breads' (should be 'different types of bread'), and 'another on was not made' (should be 'another one'). These errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for these small, recurring errors will significantly improve your accuracy.
