Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the ideas. While all three bullet points are addressed, the content is very brief and lacks the necessary detail to fully satisfy the task requirements. For example, the explanation of why participants were unhappy is limited to a single sentence, and the suggestions for improvement are underdeveloped. To improve, you should expand on each point with more specific details or examples to provide a more comprehensive and professional response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is logically organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the main points. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited. Phrases like 'However' and 'To improve in future' are used, but the overall flow is somewhat disjointed due to the brevity of the sentences. The paragraphing is present but could be more effectively used to separate the different requirements of the task. Improving the use of linking words and transition phrases would help create a smoother, more professional flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'find it oily and taste stale' (should be 'tasted stale') and 'we decide the food which is not going to stale' (should be 'deteriorate'). The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise language that would be expected in a formal letter to a manager. Expanding your range of collocations and formal expressions will improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include 'I want to inform you the feedback' (missing 'about'), 'most of the participants are happy' (tense inconsistency, should be 'were'), and 'these are the things help us' (missing 'that'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. To achieve a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and incorporating a wider variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy.
