Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir
I am writing this letter to give my feedback about my recent visit with my colleagues for meeting purpose.
First of all, I would defend say, my all team members like the place as is between the mountains and beautiful sceneries. In addition to that the environment of the hotel was peaceful and feel relax, because of that we did not receive any disturbance throughout our meetings. Apart from that the hotel was quite neat and clean.
However, everything was perfect except the food they served for lunch. My company members unsatisfied with that as it had a number of problems such as a food was not properly cooked. Moreover I ordered dishes without spiciness but as my all members came from abroad, but I received extra spicy dishes, that my foreign colleagues not liked that. I was very disappointed with my company reputation. However, your cooking staff can try few things to improve food facilities such as a try to test dish before served as well as check the Oder is it really goes to particular table or person.
Thank you so much for your service.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: the positive aspects of the hotel, the issues with the lunch, and suggestions for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening and closing salutations need adjustment to match the prompt's requirements. Your ideas are relevant, but the development is somewhat limited by grammatical errors that occasionally obscure the intended meaning, such as the explanation regarding the spicy food. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are fully developed and clearly articulated to avoid any ambiguity for the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'In addition to that', and 'However' to link your ideas. However, the flow is sometimes interrupted by awkward phrasing and grammatical slips, which makes the progression feel a bit mechanical. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'as my all members came from abroad, but I received extra spicy dishes'. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points successfully. You use some topic-specific language like 'feedback', 'reputation', and 'facilities'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'meeting purpose' instead of 'a meeting', 'feel relax' instead of 'felt relaxed', and 'check the Oder' instead of 'check the order'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an attempt to use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('my all team members like'), article usage ('the place as is between'), and sentence construction ('that my foreign colleagues not liked that'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable and occur frequently. To progress, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for minor errors like missing articles and incorrect word order.
