Student answer (Band 6.0)

I am writing this letter to provide a feedback about the meeting i recently organized in your hotel. All he participants like so many things about your hotel but their is one thing which my clients does not like.

Everyone appreciate the hotel enviormnrnt like the hotel meeting rooms are clean and comfortable. All the staff member are very helpfull and my clients are really impressed with the quick service. Also the location is so convenient all the participants easy made it .

However the main issue they had with the lunch menu. because there are very few options for vegetarian people. Also the sides were very cold them they served. Food was very oily and spicy. The food does not match the expectation from the good hotel.

I would suggest you to add more varity of veg, non veg and specailly healty food . make sure the food served fresh rather than the old. MtAKE THE FEEDBACK IN POSITive way to improve your service

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You successfully identified the positive aspects of the hotel, explained the issues with the lunch, and provided suggestions for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though it occasionally slips into informal phrasing. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, ensuring the reader understands the purpose of the communication. To reach a higher band, ensure that your suggestions are slightly more detailed and that the overall structure remains consistently formal throughout the entire letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Also' to transition between ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes repetitive or slightly mechanical. There are also some issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the fragmented sentence 'because there are very few options for vegetarian people.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence is complete would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'convenient', 'impressed', and 'expectations'. However, there are several spelling errors ('enviormnrnt', 'helpfull', 'varity', 'specailly', 'healty') and some awkward collocations like 'participants easy made it'. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms for basic words like 'good' or 'like'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('my clients does not like', 'staff member are'), article usage, and punctuation. For example, 'The food does not match the expectation from the good hotel' is missing an article and sounds unnatural. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors impacts the overall fluency. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage will help you achieve a higher score.
