Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: you mentioned the positive aspects of the hotel, explained the issues with the lunch, and provided a suggestion for improvement. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation regarding the vegan meal is a bit brief and could have been more clearly connected to the overall dissatisfaction. To improve, ensure that your ideas are fully extended; for instance, you could have elaborated on how the poor food quality impacted the professional atmosphere of the meeting. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though some phrasing is slightly informal.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Also' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and sentence-level flow; for example, the transition between the positive feedback and the negative feedback could be smoother. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'co-workers', 'organization meeting', and 'feedback'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'inform you a concerning feedback' (should be 'inform you of some concerning feedback') and 'all members were appreciate' (should be 'all members appreciated'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding basic grammatical errors that affect word choice. The range is sufficient for the task but lacks the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('at hotel'), incorrect verb forms ('she direct all members'), and issues with subject-verb agreement ('Tea and coffee were really good'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not prevent the overall meaning from being understood. To improve, pay closer attention to basic sentence construction, particularly the use of articles, prepositions, and consistent verb tenses. Increasing your control over these fundamental structures will significantly improve your score.
