Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is only 94 words long. Furthermore, the letter is incomplete; it cuts off mid-sentence while discussing the food, failing to explain why the participants were unhappy or suggest improvements. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure all three bullet points are fully developed and that you reach the required length by providing specific details and examples for each point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks a clear structure due to its unfinished state. While there is an attempt to use transition signals like 'To begin with' and 'However', the logical progression is interrupted by the premature ending. Paragraphing is present but insufficient given the lack of content. To improve, ensure that each bullet point is addressed in a separate, well-developed paragraph and use a wider variety of cohesive devices to link your ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'in well and sound' (should be 'well and sound') and 'parking sports' (should be 'parking spaces'). The phrase 'ample of space' is also grammatically incorrect. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are accurate and appropriate for a formal business letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with article usage, verb tense, and sentence structure. For example, 'the meeting that took place on last week Wednesday' is awkward, and 'the positive impression was being shed by' is unnatural. The sentence structure is simplistic and often lacks clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors such as subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
