Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: the positive aspects of the hotel, the issues with the lunch, and suggestions for improvement. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestions for improvement are quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific details, such as suggesting a catering meeting or a menu review, rather than just stating you would like to see improvements. The purpose of the letter is clear, but the opening sentence is slightly awkward and could be more direct.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices like 'To illustrate', 'Moreover', and 'However' to link your ideas. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or used incorrectly, such as 'Such as for the meeting', which is grammatically disjointed. The flow between sentences could be smoother; for example, the transition between the positive feedback and the complaints about the food is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'ambience', 'impressive', and 'satisfied'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'decore' (decor), 'micks' (microphones), and 'failthfully' (faithfully). Some phrases are also slightly unnatural, such as 'our some employees' and 'for the future references'. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and double-checking the spelling of common words. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated collocations would help you move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'the decore of your hotel was really awesome' (informal tone), 'rice was hard to chew and also no lunch option' (missing subject/verb), and 'suggestions for improve' (should be 'improving'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with comma usage and sentence fragments. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the clarity of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms after prepositions will significantly improve your accuracy.
