Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter about how you organized an meeting of our company in hotel. The meetings feels more enthusisatic and knowledgable.
The meeting was kept in auditorium where many of our teammates felt happy about the hotel. It feels like a brand museum. The hotel gives more positive vibes and bathrooms are neat. In interval they give a coffee which was show nice. In hotels are more selling products and musical shows and dance which interacted us. there are some live concerts are there which was show wonderful.
The foods are kept in buffae systems are inadequate for our office staffs.
And they are served indisciplanary manner. so try to avoid queues and make table buffers which will useful for our office colleques. There are some foods that feels so bad.
There must be some quality chefs and there must be some table dinners. And check whether the food is good or not. Take my opinion as my suggestions .I hope you will change this
yours sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt: the positive aspects of the hotel, the issues with the food, and suggestions for improvement. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited and occasionally unclear. For example, the description of the hotel as a 'brand museum' is confusing, and the explanation of why the food was 'inadequate' lacks specific detail. While the task is fulfilled, the ideas are not fully extended or supported with the level of clarity expected for a higher band. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though some phrasing is slightly unnatural.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition in 'And they are served indisciplanary manner'. Some sentences are short and choppy, lacking logical connectors to link them effectively. While the overall arrangement is coherent enough to be understood, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the mechanical nature of the transitions prevent a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors that hinder precision, such as 'indisciplanary manner' instead of 'disorganized' or 'unprofessional', and 'table buffers' which is unclear. The student attempts to use descriptive language (e.g., 'enthusiastic', 'knowledgeable'), but these are often used incorrectly in context. Spelling errors, such as 'buffae' and 'colleques', are present. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise vocabulary related to hospitality and business meetings and ensure correct spelling of common terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('The meetings feels', 'The foods are kept'), article usage, and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of periods and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures limits the score. The student needs to focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence construction to improve accuracy.
