Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: you mentioned the positive aspects of the hotel, explained the dissatisfaction with the lunch, and provided suggestions for improvement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why the food was unsatisfactory is brief, and the suggestions for improvement are a bit vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific details or examples, such as describing exactly what was wrong with the freshness or suggesting specific types of training for the kitchen staff.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'However' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'For the better review of your hotel this is my kind suggestion'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'organised', 'colleagues', and 'ambitious'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'some implements are required for food making process' and 'trained particularly each and every cuisines'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do show a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise terminology for professional contexts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the hotel', 'the food'), prepositions, and sentence construction ('meeting hall and place very nice'). Some sentences are fragmented or lack necessary verbs, such as 'Moreover hotel has great ambitious'. While these errors rarely impede understanding, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
