Dear Sir,

Moreover, the staff was also cooperative and well-dressed, and guide the participants towards the meeting hall. The volunteers are there to deal any issue till the meeting end.
However, they are little disappointed with the food served in lunch. The buffet was mostly emptied and we had to ask the waiter to fill it. Furthermore, the Arabic cuisine was very spicy however there is the balance of spices in Arabic cuisine. In addition, the BBQ items were served cold because of which nobody enjoyed that. Desert was also not up to the mark. Overall, the lunch experience was disappointing.
I suggest you to improve the quality of your food in future because after a tiring meeting attendants looking towards the food. As a scrumptious food has the quality to cheer and lift the mood. I am looking forward to organize more events in future at your hotel.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The candidate has successfully covered all parts of the task prompt. The letter opens with an appropriate greeting and clearly states what the participants liked about the hotel, noting the good ambience, cooperative staff, and helpful volunteers. It then explains the specific issues with the food served for lunch, such as the empty buffet, overly spicy Arabic cuisine, cold barbecue items, and disappointing dessert. Finally, the writer suggests that the management improve the food quality in the future because meals are important after tiring meetings. The tone is appropriate for a formal business complaint letter, and all three bullet points from the prompt are fully developed and addressed. Therefore, this response meets all requirements for Task Achievement at a Band 7.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organised into clear paragraphs, starting with an introduction, moving to the positive aspects, detailing the complaints, offering suggestions, and concluding politely. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', 'In addition', and 'Overall' are used to connect ideas, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. Referencing is mostly clear, though occasional minor cohesion lapses occur, such as the abrupt shift into the final paragraph. Overall, the organisation and progression are clear throughout, which comfortably aligns with the Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors. A score of 6.5 is appropriate due to some slight rigidity in cohesive device usage.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'ambience', 'questionnaire', 'attendants', 'cuisine', and 'scrumptious'. However, there are some noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as writing 'the participants were liked' instead of 'liked', 'deal any issue' instead of 'deal with any issue', and 'Desert' instead of 'Dessert'. Furthermore, phrases like 'attendants looking towards the food' are awkward. While less common vocabulary is attempted with reasonable success, inaccuracies in word formation and collocation prevent the response from reaching a higher band. These errors do not impede communication, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include passive voice misuse ('The participants were liked'), missing prepositions ('deal any issue' and 'organize more events... at your hotel'), tense inconsistencies ('At two weeks ago' versus present tense verbs), and subject-verb agreement issues ('attendants looking towards'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical slips are frequent enough to detract from accuracy. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout. Because communication is not impeded and a mix of structures is attempted, this performance fits the Band 6.0 descriptors.
