IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You recently organised an all-day meeting for your company, which took place in a local hotel. In their feedback, participants at the meeting said that they liked the hotel, but they were unhappy about the food that was served for lunch.

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter

• say what the participants liked about the hotel
• explain why they were unhappy about the food
• suggest what the manager should do to improve the food in future

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to provide feedback on the meeting that our company recently organised at your hotel. Overall, all the facilities were outstanding, although there are some concerns about the food that was provided.

Firstly, every participants appreciated the hotel because it was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. The meeting room was spacious and well-equipped and the staff were friendly and supportive throughout the day. In addition, the seating arrangements and audio-visual facilities were excellent, which allowed the meeting to run smoothly.

However, some members were disappointed with the lunch. The main course was that food was not very fresh and several dishes were served cold. Moreover, there were few vegetarian options, which caused difficulties for some participants. The menu was also limited and the food was not particularly in great taste, which was quite dissatisfaction.

Therefore, I would suggest that you consider improving quality and variety of the lunch menu in the future. I suggest that you should provide fresh meals and served at the appropriate temperature. It would also be helpful to offer a wider range of vegetarian and healthy options.

I hope you will consider my request and make the necessary improvements for future meetings.
