Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully covered all parts of the task by mentioning what the participants liked about the hotel, explaining why they were unhappy with the lunch, and suggesting improvements for the future. Your position is generally clear throughout the letter. However, some parts are slightly under-developed; for example, the explanation of why participants were unhappy with the food relies on general statements like your food quality was extermely bad rather than providing specific details about the dishes. To reach a higher level, you should extend and support your ideas with more precise explanations of the issues encountered.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement, and the information is divided into logical sections that follow the requirements of the prompt. You used basic cohesive devices to connect your thoughts, such as moreover and when. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in the awkward transitions between sentences like moreover, when participants was going to lunch. Additionally, paragraphing could be managed more effectively to separate your points clearly. To improve, work on using a wider variety of cohesive links smoothly and ensure your referencing is always clear to guide the reader effortlessly through your letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows you to communicate your message about the company meeting and hotel feedback. You attempted some less common vocabulary, such as extermely well and professinal, but these attempts included noticeable inaccuracies in word form and spelling. There are also several lexical errors, including qulity instead of quality, comapny instead of company, and the misuse of words like advise instead of advice. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your range. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision, pay closer attention to word forms, and eliminate spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrated a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures like relative clauses and time clauses. However, your control over grammar is inconsistent, and there are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, and article usage. Examples include i writing this letter instead of I am writing, when we were arrived instead of when we arrived, and your hotel should be hire instead of your hotel should hire. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalisation at the beginning of sentences. These errors reflect a limited range of reliable structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, verb agreements, and correct auxiliary verb usage.
