Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points and maintain a polite, relevant purpose. The positive feedback is specific: participants liked the hotel’s decoration, staff, bathrooms and parking. You also explain the lunch problem with a clear example: Korean dishes were listed, but sushi and bibimbap were unavailable after guests had waited. Your suggestion to notify guests earlier is relevant. This meets the task well, while some ideas are less fully developed: for example, you do not explain what made the food itself unsatisfactory beyond the unavailable choices, and the improvement advice could be more practical, such as checking stock or offering alternatives. The opening also says the food was “so delicious,” which makes the complaint less clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from its purpose to positive comments, the food complaint, and a closing suggestion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these main stages, and connectors such as “Although,” “Therefore,” and “Overall” show relationships between ideas. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “Although food was so delicious but…” combines two contrasting linkers, and “Overall we enjoyed a lot” partly conflicts with the complaint that follows. The final paragraph repeats that the experience was enjoyable and that you will visit again, rather than developing the requested recommendation. Use clearer transitions and make each paragraph’s purpose consistent to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including relevant terms such as “participants,” “menu,” “dissatisfied,” and “communication skills.” The specific food names also make the example clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which reduces precision: “hotel decoration,” “staff well mananged,” “food was so delicious but in wide range food was not available,” and “parking system that was big.” Spelling errors such as “mananged” and “Thankyou” also affect the impression of control. Aim for more natural phrases and accurate spelling, especially when describing service and facilities.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a conditional suggestion beginning “if any food is missed.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors occur across sentence patterns and sometimes make relationships unclear. Examples include “2 days ago i booked your hotel for meeting,” “staff well mananged and had a great communication skills,” and “members was dissatisfied.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, verb forms and punctuation, while the “Although … but” construction is faulty. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and subject–verb agreement, and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses. Proofreading for capitalisation and sentence boundaries would also help.
