Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir,
I am writing you this letter to express my feedback for last week's meeting we organised at your hotel in the downtown location.
My whole team and all the attendants liked the place and service of your hotel staff. Your hotel provided all required accomodations as we requested such as, table, chairs, mike and speakers also the meeting hall was spacious and had no disturbance as hotel was quite busy during weekends.
Although, we did not like the food at all, every person who attended the meeting complained that food was not as hot as it should be, and some food items were missing too from our requested order prior a week. Moreover, one of my supervisor told me that know one has sent any message or not even asked that we need lunch now or later before arranging the buffet, that would have made the food very warm. I requesting you that if your hotel kitchen is out of any food items please inform prior so we can make some other arrangements and from next time your hotel staff would ask our supervisors about surving time for lunch that would be great.I hope you consider this feedback and try to resolve this issues in our next visit.
Yours truly,
Dhruv.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points in the task: you praise the hotel’s facilities and staff, explain that the lunch was not hot and that requested items were missing, and suggest checking availability and asking about serving time in future. These details make the complaint specific and relevant. The purpose and generally polite tone are clear, and the closing is appropriate. To strengthen the response further, make the requested action more direct and organise the suggestions as clear steps—for example, confirm the menu and food availability before the event, then coordinate the buffet time with your supervisor. This would make the proposed solution more fully developed and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall sequence: it introduces the event, describes what participants liked, explains the lunch problems, and ends with requests for improvement. Linking expressions such as “Although” and “Moreover” help show the relationship between points, and the closing gives the letter a clear finish. However, the second body paragraph contains several ideas in one long stretch, so the missing items, cold food, and lack of communication are not as easy to distinguish as they could be. Divide the complaint and recommendations into separate sentences or paragraphs, and use clearer references to who should take each action. This would make the progression smoother and cohesion less dependent on linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “spacious,” “disturbance,” “requested order,” and “buffet.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the letter less natural and occasionally slow the reader: “feedback for” is less suitable than “feedback on,” “attendants” is unclear for meeting participants, and “surving” and “accomodations” are misspelled. Phrases such as “food was not as hot as it should be” communicate the problem, but more precise wording would improve the complaint. Aim to use standard business-letter expressions and check spelling, especially for key details. The range is adequate for the task, but control of word choice and spelling is inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “Although” and the conditional idea about asking when lunch was needed. The main message remains understandable, but errors recur in sentence construction and verb forms. For example, “I am writing you this letter” needs a different pattern, “I requesting you” lacks an auxiliary, and “one of my supervisor told me” has a number-agreement problem. The long sentence beginning “Moreover” also joins several clauses without clear punctuation, making the meaning harder to follow. Practise accurate request forms and break complex ideas into shorter sentences; this will help you retain variety while improving control.
