Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three requested points: you mention positive features such as the hotel’s “good and safe location” and comfort, describe dissatisfaction with the lunch, and offer suggestions about preparation, quality, taste, quantity and timing. However, the positive feedback is vague, and the reasons for dissatisfaction are mostly listed rather than explained—for example, “tasteless” and “unhygienic” are not supported with details. The recommendations also need to be more specific, such as checking food hygiene, offering menu choices or serving lunch promptly. The response is 148 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. Develop each point clearly and use an appropriate closing to complete the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall sequence: positive comments, complaints, and recommendations. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these sections, and phrases such as “on the second hand” and “as per my advice” attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because ideas are joined in long strings, with repeated commas and abrupt fragments such as “dislike..for you hotel food.” Some linking expressions are also used inaccurately or mechanically. Organise each paragraph around one clear purpose, connect related details in complete sentences, and use fewer, more natural transitions. A conventional opening and closing would also make the letter feel more complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “location,” “comfortable,” “quality,” “quantity” and “time management.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, while spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message difficult to understand: “enviroment,” “particapants,” “tastelss” and “unhygenic.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “effective quantity” and “hotel feedback.” Choose precise expressions that fit a formal complaint, and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the venue’s “pleasant atmosphere” and “convenient location,” and say that the lunch was “poor in quality” or “served late.” This would make your meaning clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to combine ideas, but most sentences are difficult to follow because grammatical relationships are unclear. For example, “I am writing about about your hotel feedback, is very excellent” joins clauses incorrectly, and “our participants are also not comfortable zone” lacks a clear sentence structure. Errors with articles, verb forms, prepositions and punctuation occur throughout, including the opening “Dear Sir” without the requested form of address and the repeated comma strings. Use straightforward complete sentences first: “The participants enjoyed the hotel’s comfortable meeting room and convenient location.” Then practise joining ideas with accurate clauses, such as “They were disappointed because the lunch was tasteless and arrived late.” Proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
