Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as time constraints due to work-life balance and commuting, and the solutions provided, like flexible working arrangements and employer-led health initiatives, are logical. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding Amazon is a bit vague and could have been better integrated to support the argument more effectively. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed explanations or concrete evidence to reach a higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'In the end of the day' (should be 'At the end of the day') and 'In the result' (should be 'As a result'). Additionally, the transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion needs more variety and precision.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'hectic life', 'commuting', and 'work-life balance'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'technic' instead of 'policy' or 'strategy', and 'car travelling' instead of 'commuting by car'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('People who are working full time is getting') and incorrect preposition usage ('In report of Times of India'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over more complex structures. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage.
