Student answer (Band 7.0)

Now a days lot of working professionals don't get enough time to exercise, due to their demanding jobs and long transit time. As a outcome to which they have various medical issus for example Back pain, obesity, muscle contraction, posture change etc.

On one hand, with AI the market has got more and more competive resulting into jobs and companies expecting higher quality work from the employees and to achieve the given target they have to sacrifice their work-life balance. Additionally, the increase in the traffic and companies located in the outskirts of the city the to and fro transit is time consuming, for instance some people have to leave at 08:30 AM to reach office at 10:00 AM. On the other hand, Since people are moving towards neuclear family with both partners working, they have to takecare of the household resposibilites also along with the job which leaves very less or no time for them to focus on their health and doing exercise.

In my opinion, there are 2 ways in which this problem can be addressed. Firstly, the work timings are stricting adhered to and respected, that way the shift between professional an personal will be easier and people can utilise the time in focusing on their health. Secondly, companies should include physical exercise or activies as a part of employee engagement along with perks like health check-up, gym membership or sports club membership.

In conclusion, lack of work-life balance is a global problem which can be addressed and resolved if employee and employer both takes this matter's seriously and try to find a win-win scenario.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact of AI on job demands and the burden of household responsibilities. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion that companies should include exercise as part of employee engagement is a good point, but it could be expanded with more specific examples of how this would work in practice. The position is clear throughout, and the response covers all requirements of the task effectively, though it lacks the depth required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each prompt question, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', 'Firstly', and 'Secondly', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and sentence flow. For example, the phrase 'As a outcome to which' is awkward and disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'demanding jobs', 'competive' (spelling error), and 'neuclear family' (spelling error). Some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'stricting adhered to' instead of 'strictly adhered to'. While the range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, the presence of spelling errors and occasional awkward collocations prevents a higher score. The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for a band 7 or above.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Now a days' (should be 'Nowadays'), 'As a outcome' (should be 'As an outcome'), 'medical issus' (spelling), and 'both partners working, they have to takecare' (missing space). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and punctuation, such as 'if employee and employer both takes this matter's seriously'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to demonstrate a lack of full control over complex structures. The sentence variety is present, but accuracy remains a concern.
