Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as work pressure and the need for flexible schedules. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion of 'half an hour aerobic exercises' is a good idea but lacks depth in explaining how this would be implemented or why it would be effective for all employees. The position is clear throughout, but the arguments could be more fully extended to reach a higher band. Overall, the response covers all requirements of the task sufficiently.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'To add to it', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Owing to this labourers who does not have enough money'. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and flow, particularly in the opening paragraph where the sentence structure is fragmented. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is generally clear and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'detrimental impact', 'mitigate', and 'eradicate'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'gain more increment' (should be 'get a pay rise') and 'instilled' (should be 'implemented' or 'adopted'). While the range is sufficient to communicate the main points, the errors in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'labourers who does not have', 'there are few measures can be taken') and article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, though some sentences are slightly clunky. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, but they do not impede the reader's understanding of the main arguments. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
