Student answer (Band 7.0)

In this rapidly evolving era, a growing number of the population avoid exercise in a daily routine or in leisure time and the repercussions of health related issues. This negative approach adopted by a public due to hectic schedule and not recognizing the benefits of physical activities. However, it can be solved by implementing policy of work-life balance and awareness campaigns by the experts.

In this modern world, competition has been increased drastically in the corporate world. In order to be at top, employees are working extra hours on daily basis for their employer and in return, they receiving small chunk of bonus in the form of money or gifts. Therefore, people are not able to spare time for themselves and engage in healthy activities. Furthermore, individuals are not aware about advantages to be in fit condition. As a result, they do not want spend precious time or hard-earned money into gym or such type of classes. A notable example was published by one the prominent magazines that only 30 to 40 percent citizens understand benefits of the exercise in a number of countries.

To tackle this issues, state authorities should introduce strict rules on the work culture of multi-billion dollar companies which has a most number of employees. There could be rules such as an employee cannot work more than 50 hours of a week and higher management cannot contact to employees after end of a working day. Moreover, with the help of social media platforms and physical awareness programs by fitness coaches can boost the information of exercise. Therefore, people will involve in the healthier activities. To illustrate, a tier-two city introduced an advertisement related to health on the Instagram and 60 percent of viewers enroll in gyms.

In conclusion, due to busy corporate life and unaware of advantages of exercise people are not able take benefits of physical activities but if imposing policies of work on the big companies and running advertisements can build a healthier society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of corporate competition and the suggestion of government-mandated work-life balance policies. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people do not exercise could be more nuanced, and the solutions are a bit generic. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting examples, such as the 'tier-two city' reference, are slightly vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and more concrete, well-integrated examples to fully support your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In this modern world,' 'Furthermore,' 'To tackle this issues,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and cohesion, such as 'which has a most number of employees,' which is grammatically awkward and affects the flow. Overall, the structure is coherent, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'repercussions,' 'drastically,' and 'corporate world.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'avoid exercise in a daily routine' (instead of 'fail to exercise'), 'small chunk of bonus,' and 'boost the information of exercise.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary in a natural way rather than attempting to use complex words that may not fit the context perfectly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a public,' 'the exercise'), verb forms ('they receiving'), and prepositional usage ('aware about'). Some sentences are also slightly awkward, such as 'due to busy corporate life and unaware of advantages of exercise people are not able take benefits.' These errors are noticeable but rarely prevent the reader from understanding your intended meaning. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent article usage, and refining your sentence construction to ensure greater accuracy.
