Student answer (Band 6.5)

In the contemporary epoch, work-out is extremely important to prevent any health-related conditions. It has been claimed by experts that a number of employees pay less attention on physical activities either on weekdays or in their leisure time. Social responsibilities and unmotivated behavior are main factors of this issue. However, it can be mitigated by companies and governments.

To begin with, the major reason of little or no exercise is the family commitment. In other words, individuals need to fulfill their basic requirements. As a result, they work longer hours to meet the demand, so after the job, they feel low energetic and ignore to perform any form of exercises. working people are not inculcate and well-informed about the benefits of physical work-outs which is another reason because they have not receive a proper platform which promote them for physical exercises. For instance, in many cities, like London where a few working people involve in regular exercise routine due to the lack of encouragement.

To combat this problem, organizations can take steps to encourage staff for it. For example, they can provide a small gym facility in the workplace that can motivate people to engage in a healthy habit during a break hour. Therefore, they can commence with physical activities, despite having busy schedule. In addition to it, the local government should start educational campaigns about the important of workout through social media as everyone uses this medium for various purposes. This is the way the public will be motivated and understand the merits of it.

In conclusion, although the busy lifestyle and the lack of encouragement are the common factor for not able to participate in exercises, this concern can be resolved by taking meticulously measures such as involving the fitness areas in the offices and motivating them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as family commitments and workplace gym facilities. However, the development is somewhat uneven. For instance, the point about 'unmotivated behavior' in the introduction is not fully explored in the body paragraphs. The explanation regarding why people are not 'inculcated' is slightly vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason is supported by a more detailed explanation or a more specific, illustrative example. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the causes from the solutions. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'As a result', and 'In addition to it' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'encourage staff for it', where the pronoun 'it' lacks a clear antecedent. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the structure supports the central argument well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'contemporary epoch', 'mitigated', and 'meticulously'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'pay less attention on' (should be 'to'), 'low energetic' (should be 'low energy'), and 'involving the fitness areas' (should be 'incorporating'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations and word forms to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist. Examples include 'working people are not inculcate' (should be 'are not inculcated'), 'they have not receive' (should be 'have not received'), and 'the important of workout' (should be 'the importance of working out'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors throughout. The writer demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but the frequency of errors in basic verb forms and word endings prevents a higher score.
