Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, Maintaining good health is essential for a productive life.. In this busy lifestyle people often take their health for granted and always avoid working out and walking. It is observed that several working professionals avoid exercising even when they have free time. This essay will examine the reasons behind their behaviour before presenting how this problem can be solved.
On the one hand, I believe that workplace pressure is the main reason because, submission deadlines, ongoing projects and targets make them feel under pressure, and because of this individuals feel a lack of motivation to use their free time to exercise. A fast-paced lifestyle always makes them lazy. They show a lethargic attitude to do activities to keep them fit such as Yoga, Pilates and Swimming. Moreover, Junk, canned and packaged food is readily available in the professional places for example, offices and conference halls. It makes them more likely to procrastinate about doing physical workout and become sick.
On the other hand, to curtail this immense challenge, firstly, governments have to organize a few campaigns and motivational speeches at these places to inspire overly occupied people. In addition, advertisements should be broadcast to promote healthy food habits instead of fried and junk food. Employers can provide free gym memberships near workplaces so employees can exercise conveniently before or after work and maintain this habit for a long time.
In conclusion, maintain work-life balance is very difficult but people should focus on solutions instead of problems especially when it is related to their health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as workplace pressure and the availability of unhealthy food. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion of 'campaigns and motivational speeches' is a bit vague and could be expanded with more specific examples of how these would function in a corporate environment. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more depth in the supporting arguments to reach a higher band. Overall, it covers all requirements of the task adequately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In addition', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the jump from discussing 'fast-paced lifestyle' to 'junk food' in the second paragraph is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the problem to the solution.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally appropriate for the task, with terms like 'contemporary era', 'lethargic attitude', and 'curtail this immense challenge'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'professional places' instead of 'workplaces' or 'work environments'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning clearly, though it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. The student uses some topic-specific vocabulary, which is a positive aspect, but needs to work on more natural collocations to improve fluency.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'Maintaining good health' starting with a capital letter mid-sentence, and 'maintain work-life balance is very difficult' which lacks a subject or gerund form (e.g., 'maintaining'). There are also punctuation issues, such as the double period after 'productive life..'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence structure.
