Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for a lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as workplace pressure and family responsibilities, and the suggestions like company-sponsored sports and personal gym time are practical. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion to 'hire more professional workers' to reduce burdens is a bit simplistic and could be expanded with more nuanced reasoning. The position is clear throughout, but the overall depth of the argument is limited, keeping it within the Band 6 range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'To sum up' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the workplace burden and the suggestion for family gym time. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'multitudinous', 'prudent', and 'contemporary', though some are used with slight inaccuracies (e.g., 'multitudinous ways' is less natural than 'various ways'). There are also several spelling errors, such as 'contemparory', 'adquate', 'responsibities', and 'enhnace'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on precision and spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'company need to', 'this problems can be tackle') and article usage. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'they require to work more hours' instead of 'they are required to work more hours'. While these errors do not prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures would help improve this score.
