Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as 'lots of work' and 'lazing habitats' (lazy habits), are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The solutions are also presented in a simplistic manner, focusing on general advice like 'manage their time' without exploring the broader societal or structural factors involved. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack specific examples or detailed analysis, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Whereas, they are reducing their exercise' is used incorrectly, and 'in the first solution' is an awkward way to introduce a point. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly within the second paragraph where the link between work pressure and health issues is not clearly articulated. While there is an overall attempt at a logical flow, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional confusion in referencing makes the cohesion feel forced.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'lazing habitats' instead of 'lazy habits', 'BP lower' instead of 'low blood pressure', and 'eat time' instead of 'mealtimes'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, relying on basic terms like 'many more thing' and 'better maintain'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in collocation and word formation significantly restrict the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often grammatically flawed, such as 'if they are doing exercise so they are not facing health problem'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and tense consistency (e.g., 'they can lives better lifestyle'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication.
