Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for inactivity and suggesting solutions. However, the development of these ideas is weak. The reasons provided, such as 'busy with career' and 'technology', are mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with concrete examples. The solutions section is vague, mentioning a 'multifaceted approach' without detailing what that entails. The conclusion is also off-topic, discussing 'pros and cons' of health problems rather than summarizing the main points of the essay. The ideas lack depth and the overall argument is not fully developed, which limits the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and disjointed sentences. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence' and 'Moreover', they are often used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. For instance, the transition between the reasons for inactivity and the proposed solutions is abrupt. The referencing is sometimes confusing, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. The writer relies on basic words like 'problem', 'busy', and 'life' throughout the text. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'they are not interesting for exercise' (meaning they are not interested) and 'they should be activities in free time'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly, and the errors in word formation and collocation occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'many people has been lot of problem'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentence fragments and run-on sentences. While the writer attempts some complex structures, they are almost always faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. The majority of sentences contain errors, which frequently cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
