Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is irrefutable that in this fast-paced era, getting time for physical activities has become challenging for individuals which cause health issues for them. I will elaborate reasons behind this phenomenon and along with solutions to alleviate this problem in upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, there are multifarious reasons why people do not have time to do exercise. The predominant one is that working overtime. In other words, these days people have become more materialistic as to fulfill their needs, they have to work more than eight hours and try to get promotion at high position to earn more money. Moreover, most of people are addicted to social media. Therefore, they utilize their free time to watch videos and movies on phones or television instead doing exercises. For example, the headline of 'Daily Tribune' newspaper in India revealed that 70% youngsters like to spend their spare time on social media despite of working on their physical fitness.

To address this problem, people have to maintain balance in their daily lifestyle . To explain it, they should spend money on expenses wisely so that they will not require to do overtime job. Due to this, they can save time and spend on physical exercises to stay healthy. Furthermore, they should get rid of overusing mobile phone as a purpose of entertainment in their free time. So they can do outdoor activities after their work which can help to avoid any kind of medication.

In conclusion, although this is hard to get time in today's life for exercise in working days , however people can rectify this issue with their some efforts with consistency.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as working overtime and the distraction of social media. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion to 'spend money wisely' to avoid overtime is a bit simplistic and lacks a deeper exploration of structural workplace issues. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. Overall, the response covers all requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'To explain it' and 'Due to this'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main ideas. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the link between the final sentence of the second paragraph and the rest of the text could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some good collocations like 'fast-paced era', 'physical fitness', and 'rectify this issue'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as 'overusing mobile phone as a purpose of entertainment' and 'despite of working'. The range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary that would elevate the response to a higher band. Expanding your range of synonyms and idiomatic expressions would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'getting time... have become challenging... which cause health issues' (subject-verb agreement) and 'despite of' (incorrect preposition). Punctuation is mostly functional, though there are some issues with spacing and comma usage. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on sentence variety and proofreading for basic grammatical slips would improve your accuracy.
