Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people do not exercise focuses almost exclusively on 'hectic schedules' and 'tiredness,' without exploring other factors like sedentary office culture or lack of motivation. The solutions provided are also quite general, focusing on waking up early, which may not be practical for all working individuals. To improve, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and concrete examples that go beyond personal habits, such as workplace wellness programs or government initiatives.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In the nutshell' (should be 'In a nutshell') and 'As a consequences of that' are used incorrectly. Additionally, the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from workload to health issues feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'health conscience' (instead of 'health-conscious'), 'health decease' (instead of 'health diseases'), and 'presser' (instead of 'pressure'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the range of vocabulary is restricted to basic terms. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise terminology related to health and workplace issues and ensure that words are used in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('individual them self take action'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing ('working as a employer'). While the meaning is usually clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that prepositions and articles are used correctly before attempting more complex structures.
