Student answer (Band 6.0)
Physical activities need to become an important part of every individual but nowadays everyone is so tied up in their schedule that they are not able to find time for themselves. People who are working outside need to travel in the morning and then have standing job get tired from their hectic schedule and have no or less energy to focus on anything else in the evening when they get home. Also after working for roughly 7-8 hours there is no energy left in the body and people end up ordering food from outside and sleep right after that effects the body and create health problems in future.
To overcome this problem, my suggestion is people need to find motivation and think of ideas how can they take time from their busy schedule instead of avoiding going to the gym. Various options can be considered like now many big companies have gym services available for free or at minimum fee that should be considered, if people who are working from home now market has various options of standing desk that can be adjusted and they can move their body instead of sitting on the chair for hours. Also now there is an option of various home equipments like budget friendly foldable treadmills and other that can be used if you don't want to travel outside and can be done at home. Even if people spend at least 30 minutes walking or at the gym doing exercise that can bring a change in their health problems

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention 'hectic schedules' and 'standing jobs,' these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The solutions provided, such as gym services and standing desks, are relevant but are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully explored. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a clear explanation or a brief illustrative example to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into two paragraphs, which is a logical approach for this task. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, and there is a lack of varied linking words (e.g., 'also' is used repeatedly). The flow of ideas within the second paragraph is slightly mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in addition to this' to connect your ideas more fluidly. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hectic schedule' and 'foldable treadmills.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple, repetitive phrasing. Some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'standing job' (should be 'physically demanding job' or 'manual labour') and 'effects the body' (should be 'affects'). To achieve a higher score, aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to health and lifestyle, and ensure you are using verbs and nouns correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. For example, 'Physical activities need to become an important part of every individual' is slightly awkward; 'for every individual's life' would be more accurate. There are also issues with punctuation, particularly run-on sentences and missing commas, such as in the second paragraph where multiple ideas are joined without proper separation. To improve, focus on sentence boundaries and subject-verb agreement. Practising the use of complex sentences with subordinate clauses will also help demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
