Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the lack of exercise and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding 'busy schedules' is a common point but lacks depth or specific examples of how modern work environments contribute to this. The solutions provided, such as 'walking in breaks' and 'eating healthy', are relevant but could be expanded with more detail to fully meet the requirements of a Band 7. The position is clear, but the overall development remains basic rather than fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the problem to the solution. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'Firstly', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, although the sentence structure in the second paragraph ('Due to which, they don't have time...') is grammatically fragmented, which slightly disrupts the flow of ideas. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the essay is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'health problems' and 'exercise'. While the student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary ('sedentary lifestyle', 'hustle and bustle', 'nutritious'), there are instances of awkward word choice, such as 'eating healthy things' instead of 'eating a healthy diet'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophisticated control expected at Band 7 or above.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'individuals who goes' (should be 'go') and 'there joints starts' (should be 'their joints start'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and incorrect capitalization after periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
